Heads up foodies! It’s 502 Lunch Week in Louisville. Participating restaurants are offering a special two course menu with beverage for $10 or $15 per person.
502 Lunch Week runs from September 8 – September 19. It’s a great way to try a new spot that’s been on your list or a way to get a good deal at a local favorite.
My co-worker and I decide to give Brasserie Provence a try because it was such a beautiful day and we knew they had a patio (despite it facing a parking lot). Brasserie Provence offers your choice of one of three entrees, a dessert option and drink for $15.
We split the sandwich of the day which was an amazing Mediterranean chicken salad on ciabatta and the hamburger with arugula, tomato, brie cheese, prosciutto, caramelized onions and red pepper aioli. The burger was not on the level of Mussel and Burger Bar and Grind but tasty. Both were served with French fries and mesclun salad. The salad dressing was delicious and refreshing. The fries were good but a bit on the salty side. Pro tip: Ask for a side of the red pepper aioli or ketchup to dip your fries in.
For dessert, we opted for the marjolaine cake which had layers of chocolate, raspberry and hazelnut and the Blackberry Sorbet. The two desserts complimented each other very well. But I must say the blackberry sorbet was like eating blackberry cobbler. Every bite was a little piece of cobbler heaven.
Overall, the start of my 502 Lunch week has been very successful. Here’s to the next 11 days!
